Sociology, Race and Ethnic Studies Concentration, BA (2019-2020) (AA-T Sociology)

The AA-T in Sociology guarantees completion of 60 transferable units and all lower division core GE satisfied. This transfer degree will meet the SOCI 1 requirement at SJSU. We encourage students to complete the SOCI 80 and SOCI 15 equivalencies as part of the AA-T degree options, but if not completed prior to transfer they will need to be completed at SJSU after transfer, as well as the American Institution requirement.
Below is the path to the BA Sociology with the Race and Ethnic Studies concentration degree in 60 semester units with the transfer AA-T Sociology degree:

Roadmap Notes
# SOCI 162 meets SJSU Studies Area S A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated. Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, and Area 4 courses may be taken in any order during any semester. A minor is strongly recommended and the “University Electives” can be used to complete a minor at SJSU after transfer. |
