CCS 130 - Chicanas and Chicanos in American Society 3 units Analysis of the Chicana/o community and its role in US society, emphasizing understanding social change. Covers critical areas of the Chicana/o experience, including: family, politics, gender and sexual orientation, education, immigration, identity, institutional racism and discrimination, class, and environmental justice.
Satisfies SJSU Studies S: Self, Society & Equality in U.S.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of Core General Education and upper division standing are prerequisites to all SJSU studies courses. Completion of, or co-registration in, 100W is strongly recommended. Grading: Letter Graded
