Roadmap Notes
*Courses marked with an asterisk may be taken in a different semester than listed.
Lower division courses should generally be taken in years 1-2, and upper division courses in years 3-4. Students must have completed 60+ units in order to enroll in Upper Division GE courses. Students should work with an academic advisor to create an individual roadmap using the MyPlanner tool.
Biomedical Engineering undergraduate elective courses include BME 182 , BME 185 , BME 187 , and BME 188 . Graduate elective courses include BME 217 , BME 254 , BME 256 , BME 258 , BME 280 , and BME 288 .
The standalone Biomedical Engineering, BS program requires the completion of BME 130 , BME 174 , BME 178 , and BME 117 . Students satisfy these courses in this SAGE Scholars Program by completing - respectively - BME 210 , BME 272 , BME 274 , and either BME 217 or BME 254 . These 12 credits are considered to count toward both the graduate and undergraduate degrees, thus allowing SAGE students to meet the minimum unit requirements for both degrees.
A minimum of 141 units is required for the BME BS + MS degree.
