BME 116 - Biosensors and Bioinstrumentation

Biomedical applications of biosensors and instrumentation systems. Design and development of new instrumentation. Systems for measuring biological signals, biopotentials, pressure, stress, temperature, and optical properties. Biosensors based on different transducer systems and sensing elements. USFDA regulations and safety considerations.

Lecture 2 hours/Lab 3 hours.

Prerequisite(s): PHYS 51, BME 115, and BME 177.
