The General Business concentration, offered by the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics , offers students a broad spectrum of courses to prepare them for careers in small, medium-sized or family businesses and for jobs with companies that train new employees in a specific job largely unrelated to a functional area such as managing a large retail store or servicing technology company’s customers.

Program Delivery
The program is delivered completely online. Classes are delivered fully online both asynchronously (no designated days/times) and synchronously (designated days/times).
Program Roadmaps
The 2-Year Roadmaps are available online. Roadmaps should be used in consultation with the catalog and your advisor to identify additional requirements for completing the major (for example, course grade minimums).
Transfer Units (60 units)
- All applicants are required to have completed at least 60 transferable semester or 90 quarter units with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better.
- Applicants must also have completed the Core Lower Division General Education Requirements (34 units). The following courses must be passed with a C- or better:
(1C) Oral Communication/Speech
(1A) Written English Composition
(1B) Critical Thinking/Logic
(2) Math/Quantitative Reasoning (above the level of intermediate algebra)
(6) Ethnic Studies
- Completion of at least 22 units of the following courses (or equivalents). The following Preparation for the Major and Required for the Major courses must be completed with a grade of “C or better”: ENGL 2 , MATH 70, BUS1 20, BUS2 90.

Up to 12 units of coursework can be from any one department. The following courses must be completed with grades of “C-” or better. Required Courses (12 units)
Select at least one course from the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics, and at least one course from either the School of Management or the School of Global Innovation and Leadership. Up to 6 units can be advisor approved transfer credit. Additional Courses (6 units)
Any upper division business courses. Please see an advisor for a current list of acceptable courses. 3. University Electives (6 units)
