Communication Studies, BA (2021-2022) (AA-T Communication Studies)

The AA-T in Communication Studies guarantees completion of 60 transferable units and all lower division core GE satisfied. This transfer degree will complete the COMM 20 requirement at SJSU.
Below is the path to the BA Communication Studies degree in 60 semester units with the transfer AA-T Communication Studies degree:

- Writing Skills Test Taken and Passed

- Upper Division COMM “P” Practice course 4 units

2nd Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area V in US and California Government. meets US2, US3 and SJSU Studies Area V. If US2, US3 was met previously then take a different Area V course. 3 units
- Upper Division COMM “F” Foundations course 4 units
- Upper Division COMM “I” Inquiry course 4 units
- Upper Division COMM “P” Practice course 4 units
3rd Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area R 3 units
- Upper Division COMM “F” Foundations course 4 units
- Upper Division COMM “I” Inquiry course 4 units
- 1 unit
- University Electives 3 units
4th Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area S in US History. meets US1 and Area S. If US1 was met previously then take a different Area S course. 3 units
- Additional Major courses - see Advisor 5 units

Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated.
