Environmental Studies, Biology minor, BS (2023-2024) (AS-T Biology)

The AS-T in Biology guarantees completion of 60 transferable units. Students may use the IGETC for STEM General Education (GE) pattern that will meet all lower division GE except for one course in Area C and one course in Area D. The AS-T in Biology degree will meet the ENVS 10 , BIOL 30 , CHEM 1A , PHYS 2A , STAT 95 , and MATH 19 requirements at SJSU.
Below is the path to the BS in Environmental Studies with a Biology minor degree in 60 semester units for students who earn the AS-T in Biology.

- GE Area D Course 3 units
- if GE Area D already satisfied, then take an Elective Course approved by advisor
- HIST 170S (Area S+US1) OR ENVS 150 (Area S) if US1 already satisfied 3 units
- Select one course: ENVS 144 , ENVS 148 , ENVS 154 , ENVS 161 , ENVS 166 , ENVS 173 , ENVS 187 , ENVS 189 , ENVS 190 , ENVS 191 , or ENVS 270 4 units
- ENVS 185 /URBP 185 - Environmental Impact Analysis 4 units
- Physical Education 1 unit
4th Semester (15 units)
- POLS 170V (Area V+US23) OR ENVS 159 (Area V) if US2+3 already satisfied 3 units
- Select one course: ENVS 144 , ENVS 148 , ENVS 154 , ENVS 161 , ENVS 166 , ENVS 173 , ENVS 187 , ENVS 189 , ENVS 190 , ENVS 191 , or ENVS 270 4 units
- ENVS 198 - Senior Seminar 4 units
- Upper Division Biology Minor Course 4 units
Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated.
