Behavioral Science, BA (2021-2022) (AA-T Sociology)

The AA-T in Sociology guarantees completion of 60 transferable units and all lower division core GE satisfied. This transfer degree will meet the SOCI 1 requirement at SJSU. We encourage students to complete the SOCI 15 equivalency as part of the AA-T degree options, but if not completed prior to transfer they will need to complete the course at SJSU, as well as the American Institutions requirement.
Below is the path to the BA Behavioral Science degree in 60 semester units with the transfer AA-T Sociology degree:

- Writing Skills Test Taken and Passed

2nd Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area S in US History. meets US1 + Area S. If US1 met previously then a different SJSU Studies Area S course) 3 units
- SJSU Studies Area V in US and California Government. meets US2, US3 and Area V (or a different SJSU Studies Area V if US2, US3 has been meet) 3 units
- Upper division Anthropology, may include OR 3 units
- Upper division Anthropology, may include OR 3 units
- Lower or Upper Division ANTH 3 units
3rd Semester (15-16 units)
- Upper Division Psychology, may include 3-4 units
- Upper Division Psychology, may include 3-4 units
- Lower or Upper Division Psychology may include OR 3 units
- Upper Division Sociology, may include 3 units
- Upper Division Sociology, may include 3 units
4th Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area R 3 units
- Upper Division Anthropology, Psychology or Sociology Area Specialization courses, both approved by advisor (Three units of SJSU Studies coursework may meet Area of Specialization requirements).

Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Students may take their Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology major classes in any of their semesters at SJSU. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division electives if articulated.
Students must complete at least one of the following courses ANTH 149, ANTH 165, PSYC 18, PSYCH 120, or SOCI 104.
