Sociology, BA (2020-2021) (AA-T Global Studies or AA-T Social Justice Studies)

The AA-T in Global Studies or AA-T in Social Justice Studies guarantees the student will transfer with the completion of 60 transferable semester units. Students who earn either of these transfer degrees will meet the 39 units of lower division GE and 21 units of elective credit at SJSU. Below is the path to the BA Sociology degree in 60 semester units for students who earn either the AA-T in Global Studies or AA-T in Social Justice Studies.

- SJSU Studies Area V in US & California Government. POLS 170V - American Politics in Global Perspective meets US2, US3 and Area V. If US2,US3 was met previously then take a different Area V course 3 units
- SOCI 104 - Quantitative Research Methods 3 units
- SOCI 105 - Qualitative Research Methods 3 units
- Additional major requirement - select one course SOCI 118 , SOCI 140 , SOCI 146 , SOCI 160 , SOCI 161 , SOCI 162 , SOCI 163 , SOCI 164 , SOCI 165 , SOCI 166 , SOCI 169 , SOCI 177 or WOMS 112 3 units
- Additional major requirement - select one course SOCI 151 , SOCI 154 , SOCI 170 , SOCI 171 , SOCI 172 , SOCI 173 , SOCI 174 , SOCI 175 , SOCI 176 , SOCI 178 3 units
4th Semester (15 units)
- SJSU Studies Area R course 3 units
- SOCI 104B , SOCI 105B or SOCI 181B 3 units
- Any upper division SOCI course 3 units
- University Elective - Lower or Upper Division 4 units
- Physical Education 2 units
Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division electives if articulated. |
