Sociology, Community Change Concentration, BA (2024-2025) (AA-T Global Studies or AA-T Social Justice Studies)

The AA-T Global Studies or AA-T Social Justice Studies guarantees the student will transfer with the completion of 60 semester transferable units. Students who earn either of these transfer degrees will meet the 39 units of lower division GE and 21 units of elective credit at SJSU.
Below is the path to the BA in Sociology, Community Change concentration degree in 60 semester units for students who earn either the AA-T in Global Studies or AA-T in Social Justice Studies.

- Select one course: SOCI 118 , SOCI 120 , SOCI 146 , SOCI 160 , SOCI 161 , SOCI 162 , SOCI 165 , SOCI 166 , SOCI 169 , SOCI 171 , or SOCI 199H 3 units
- SOCI 164 - Social Action 3 units
- Lower OR Upper Division University Elective 3 units
4th Semester (15 units)
- HIST 170S (Area S+US1) OR a different SJSU Studies Area S if US1 already satisfied 3 units
- POLS 170V (Area V+US23) OR a different SJSU Studies Area V if US2+3 already satisfied 3 units
- SOCI 105B - Advanced Qualitative Research Methods OR SOCI 181B - Sociology Career Capstone 3 units
- Select two courses: SOCI 118 , SOCI 120 , SOCI 146 , SOCI 160 , SOCI 161 , SOCI 162 , SOCI 165 , SOCI 166 , SOCI 169 , SOCI 171 , or SOCI 199H 6 total units
Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division electives if articulated.
A minor is strongly recommended and the University Electives can be used to complete a minor at SJSU after transfer.
