Philosophy, BA (2024-2025) (AA-T Philosophy)

The AA-T in Philosophy guarantees 60 transferable units and the completion of all lower division Core GE. This transfer degree will meet PHIL 9 or PHIL 57 , and PHIL 70A or PHIL 70B requirements at SJSU.

PHIL 70A - Ancient Philosophy 3 units
- if equivalent already taken, then take PHIL 70B
US1 Course (American/US History) 3 units
- if US1 already satisfied, then take a Lower OR Upper Division University Elective
Physical Education 2 units
Lower OR Upper Division University Electives 7 units

2nd Semester (15 units)

Any 100W course 3 units (Writing in the Disciplines)
US2+3 Course (US Constitution & California Government) 3 units
- if US2+3 already satisfied, then take a Lower OR Upper Division University Elective

Two (2) Upper Division Philosophy Courses 6 total units

Year 2

3rd Semester (15 units)

PHIL 190 - Seminar in Philosophical Classics OR PHIL 195 - Seminar in Philosophy of Law 3 units

A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated.
