FS 57 - Biological Criminalistics


3 units
Working on a mock case, students gain experience in locating, identifying and collecting biological traces such as blood, semen and saliva. Students learn how to evaluate biological evidence within varied case contexts, culminating in interpretation of the biological test results to aid in addressing activity level propositions for the court. Students also learn the theory of bloodstain pattern analysis and apply this theory within the crime scene simulation suite. 

Lecture 2 hours/activity 2 hours.

Prerequisite(s): FS 11  AND any general biology course such as BIOL 30  or BIOL 31  or by instructor consent.
Grading: Letter Graded
