Roadmap: Chemistry with a 12 unit minor, BA (AS-T Chemistry)

The AS-T in Chemistry guarantees the student will transfer with the completion of 60 transferable semester units. Students may use the IGETC for STEM General Education (GE) pattern that meets all lower division GE except for one course in GE Area 3 (formerly Area C) and one course in GE Area 4 (formerly Area D) . This transfer degree will meet the CHEM 1A , CHEM 1B , PHYS 50 , PHYS 51 , MATH 30 , MATH 31 , and CHEM 112A , CHEM 112B , CHEM 113A (for content credit only) requirements at SJSU. We highly encourage students to complete the equivalent of BIOL 30 prior to transfer as part of their associate degree.

Below is the path to the BA in Chemistry (with a 12 unit minor) degree in 60 semester units for students who earn the AS-T in Chemistry. Any prerequisite to a Chemistry course must be passed with a grade of “C” or better (C- not accepted).

This roadmap has an approved P.E. waiver.

Roadmap Notes

A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated.
