Roadmap: Biological Science, BA (AS-T Biology)

The AS-T in Biology guarantees 60 transferable units and the completion of STEM lower division core GE except for one course in GE Area 3 (formerly GE Area C) and one course in GE Area 4 (formerly GE Area D) . The AS-T degree in Biology will meet the BIOL 30 , BIOL 31 , CHEM 1A , CHEM 1B , PHYS 2A , PHYS 2B , and MATH 30 requirements at SJSU.
Below is the path to the BA in Biological Science degree in 60 semester units for students who earn the AS-T in Biology. Students must complete all lower division major requirement courses with a “C-” or better. Any prerequisite to a chemistry course must be passed with a “C” or better.
This roadmap has an approved P.E. waiver.

- HIST 170S 3 units (fulfills Upper Division Area 4 (formerly Area S) + US1)
- POLS 170V 3 units (fulfills Upper Division Area 3 (formerly Area V) + US23)
- GE Area 4 (formerly Area D) Course 3 units
- Upper Division Major Elective Courses from BIOL/BOT/ENT/MICR/ZOOL (with major advisor approval) 3 units
- Lower OR Upper Division University Elective 2-3 units
Roadmap Notes
A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division free electives if articulated. * BIOL 115 must be passed with a “C” or better for enrollment in BIOL 159 (if selected in the 3rd semester). ** BIOL 155 must be passed with a “C” or better for enrollment in BIOL 159 (if selected in the 3rd semester). |
