Behavioral Science, BA (2020-2021) (AA-T Psychology)


The AA-T in Psychology guarantees completion of 60 transferable units and all lower division core GE satisfied. This transfer degree will meet the PSYC 1, Elementary Statistics and additional lower division psychology requirements at SJSU. Below is the path to the BA Behavioral Science degree in 60 semester units with the transfer AA-T Psychology degree.

  • SJSU Studies Area S in US History HIST 170S  meets US1 and Area S. If US1 was met previously then take a different Area S course. 3 units
  • SJSU Studies Area V in US Government & California POLS 170V  meets US 2, 3 and Area V. If US 2 and 3 was met previously then take a different Area V course. 3 units 
  • ANTH (upper division may include ANTH 149  or ANTH 165 6 units
  • ANTH (lower or upper division) 3 units

4th Semester (15 units)


  • SJSU Studies Area R course 3 units
  • Area Specialization - two additional upper division anthropology, psychology, or sociology courses approved by Behavioral Science advisor. (Three units of SJSU Studies coursework may be used to meet the major area of specialization requirements). 6 units
  • ANTH 193 - Behavioral Science in Practice  3 units 
  • University Elective - Lower or Upper Division 3 units

Roadmap Notes


A minimum of 40 upper division units must be completed for degree. This roadmap is a sample pathway. Students may take their Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology major classes in any of their semesters at SJSU. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you. 60 units minimum will be transferred with this degree, however up to 70 transfer units can be applied to the lower division and lower division electives if articulated.

Students must complete at least one of the following courses ANTH 149, ANTH 165, PSYC 018, PSYCH 120, or SOCI 104.
