HIST 136 - World Jewish History


3 units
History of the Jewish people and Judaism around the world, from their origins to the present. Covers Jewish development, both as an ethnic group and as a religion, with an emphasis on the diverse ways in which Jews responded to their circumstances. A major focus is the effect of Judaism and the Jews on other cultures and societies. 

Satisfies V: Cultures and Global Understanding

Prerequisite(s): Completion of Core General Education and upper division standing are prerequisites to all SJSU studies courses. Completion of, or co-registration in, 100W is strongly recommended (HIST 100W preferred).
Grading: Letter Graded.
