* Major students are expected to have taken the equivalent of one year of a foreign language (SPAN 1A and SPAN 1B at SJSU) in high school or at a community college.

** SPAN 25A and SPAN 25B fulfill the 6-units requirement for core GE area 3B.

*** American Institutions requirement may be satisfied by certain core GE courses (4+US1, 4+US23).
