The Department of Electrical Engineering at San José State University is a leading provider of engineering talent to Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry. Our curriculum is designed to prepare our graduates for the dynamic global society. A very highly qualified and dedicated EE faculty is the strength of the department. The state-of-the-art laboratories, sponsored by industry, provide opportunities for our students to prepare for their profession. The Electrical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the General Program Criteria and the Electrical, Computer, Communications, Telecommunication(s) and Similarly Named Engineering Programs Program Criteria. The department also offers a combined Electrical Engineering BS + MS program.

Major-Specific Graduation Requirements
All required courses in Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics require a “C-” or better to graduate.

Upper Division Electrical Engineering Electives (12 units)
With preapproval by the Electrical Engineering (EE) Major Advisor, students can take one (1) 3 unit upper division course from another engineering program OR one (1) 3 unit graduate level EE elective course (except EE 210, EE 221, EE 250, EE 275) to substitute for 3 units of upper division EE elective. Matriculated EE students should visit the EE department website (www.sjsu.edu/ee/) for department policies in course transfers, major probation and major disqualifications.
