Civil Engineers plan, design and supervise construction of buildings, roadways, bridges, water supply systems, communications networks and transportation systems. Using modern technology, they solve pollution and planning problems and tackle other engineering challenges. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. The Civil Engineering Bachelor of Science degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the General Program Criteria and the Civil and Similarly Named Engineering Programs Program Criteria. It includes course work in construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation and water resources engineering.
