ASTR 117A - Astrophysics I

Physical and observational foundations of astronomy and astrophysics. Celestial coordinates, telescopes, astronomical observations, orbital motion, physics and chemistry of planetary systems; introduction to stellar physics. Computer models and simulations may be used.

Prerequisite(s): PHYS 52 and MATH 32 or MATH 32X with a “C-” or better, or instructor consent.
