The College of Science’s Science Education program offers courses that aim to develop research-based approaches to teaching and learning at the secondary and higher education levels. In cooperation with the Connie L. Lurie College of Education and the Teacher Education Program, we oversee the single subject teacher credential program in science through advising, coursework offerings and student teacher supervision We support the preparation of justice-centered, socially responsive science teachers in the areas of biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics. In addition, we offer a master’s degree in Science Education engaging our students in innovative science education research. We also train undergraduate learning assistants, and we offer a minor in Science Education.
