Overview

Social work is a dynamic and challenging profession that presents exceptional opportunities for personal job satisfaction. A professional social worker helps people cope with interpersonal and social problems and obtain the resources they need to live with dignity. Additionally, social workers help communities mobilize and deliver the services and support they require. The School of Social Work is committed to the core values of service, social justice, the dignity and worth of individuals, human rights, competence, integrity and scientific inquiry. We honor diversity. Employing a transcultural perspective, we train our students to practice professionally with a broad range of ethnic and cultural groups, the disenfranchised, and the marginalized. Our undergraduate and graduate degree programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Our On-Campus MSW Program may be completed in two or three years; our Online/Hybrid MSW Program is completed in two years through continuous year-round enrollment. Our Advanced Standing option provides qualified students from an accredited Social Work Program degree to complete the MSW degree in one summer and one year, offered in both on-campus and online formats.
