HIST 133 - World War I 4 unit(s) Explores the causes of the First World War, the aims of the Entente and Central Powers, the experience of total war, including trench warfare and the development of tanks and poison gas, and the global experience of war in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The course also examines the global ramifications of the conflict including the Versailles Treaty, the origins of fascism, post-colonial liberation movements, and memoirs and fiction inspired by the conflict.
Prerequisite(s): Upper division standing or instructor consent. Grading: Letter Graded
