MUSC 112 - Historical Periods in Western Music Course offers an in-depth study of selected periods or topics in Western music history. Emphasizing focused exploration rather than broad survey, students will develop skills in locating, evaluating, and analyzing historical musical sources. Coursework encourages critical thinking about the relationship between music and culture in specific eras. Topics may include medieval and Renaissance music, Viennese classicism, opera history, and twentieth-century developments.
Prerequisite(s): MUSC 111 . Grading: Letter Graded
