MUED 14A - Lab Ensemble: String Project Pedagogy

Lab Ensemble is a course for music education majors designed to help pre-professional music educators gain tools for teaching a variety of ensembles in public schools. Students will gain teaching experience through running rehearsal on a daily basis as well as playing and singing for each other. The ensemble will be made up of students enrolled in the community program “String Project”. Topics to be explored will include ensemble literature appropriate for a variety of levels and learning styles, music ensemble rehearsal techniques and methodologies, and conducting techniques.

Activity 2 hours.

Course may be repeated for up to 8 units.

Grading: Letter Graded

High Impact Practice: Collaborative Assignments and Projects.
