HUM 175 - Colonialism in Global Perspective 3 unit(s)
Comparative study of colonialism from global perspectives grounded in analysis of creative works and voices from colonized or formerly colonized communities, including its enduring impact on both the Global South and Global North and the responses it provoked across different temporal, geographic, and historical contexts. Course will address colonialism in more than one region and in relation to human diversity in culture, the arts, religion, race, gender, and sexual orientation.
Satisfies UD Area: 3.Cultures and Global Understanding (Formerly Area V).
Prerequisite(s): Completion of Core General Education, and upper-division standing are prerequisites to all UD GE courses. Completion of, or co-registration in, 100W is strongly recommended. Grading: Letter Graded
