Includes cryptography and its applications to security services in distributed systems, mathematics of cryptography, access control, protection models, security policies, design of secure systems, firewalls, and intrusion detection.

Prerequisite(s): CS 149  andCS 166 , or instructor consent. Graduate standing. Allowed Declared Major: Computer Science MS, Bioinformatics MS, and Data Science MS.
