Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) School Counseling Internship Added Authorization

This program is offered by the Department of Counselor Education . To be eligible to be recommended to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for a PPS School Counseling Internship, a PPS Credential candidate must have:
- Completed a minimum of 15 units within the program (EDCO 215 , EDCO 218 , EDCO 232 , EDCO 244 , and EDCO 294 ) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher,
- 100 hours of K-12 practicum experience [typically completed through EDCO 215 (35 hours) and EDCO 294 (65 hours)],
- Met the Basic Skills Requirement (BSR), and
- Been offered a school counseling position by a public school/district.

Required Courses (12-21 units)
A PPS Internship Credential is valid for up to 2 years and a candidate must register in EDCO 292 during every semester (fall and spring) they are employed under the PPS Internship Credential. Total Units Required (18-27 units)
Please note, all requirements for the PPS School Counseling Credential must be completed for a PPS School Counseling Internship Credential candidate to be recommended to CTC for a clear PPS School Counseling Credential. |
