MS 243 - Advanced Chemical Oceanography

Comprehensive study of biogeochemical cycling in the oceans, including major salts, dissolved gases, nutrient ions, carbonate parameters, and transient chemical tracers. Students will participate in field expeditions and laboratory experiments to apply their knowledge to real-world oceanographic problems.

Lecture 2 hours/Lab 6 hours.

Satisfies GWAR: Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement.

Prerequisite(s): One year of college inorganic chemistry, or instructor consent.
Grading: Letter graded.

Note(s): This course satisfies graduate-level GWAR in this master’s program.
