MATE 185 - Ceramics 3 units Structure, properties and processing of crystalline and glassy ceramics, including defect thermodynamics, surfaces, ternary phase equilibria, and sintering. Applications include solid oxide fuel cells, oxide based chemical sensors, ceramics for biomedical and dental applications, and processing of electronic components.
Prerequisite(s): MATE 115 , MATE 151 ; MATE majors must also satisfiy Jr. Core requirements. Grading: Graded
