BIOL 30 - Principles of Biology I 4 units Cellular and physiological aspects of biological diversity. Concepts include: biomolecules, cellular structures/function, cell-cell communication, cellular energetics, molecular evolution, gene expression, enzymes, and animal physiological systems.

Prerequisite(s): Writing Enrollment Group W-I or W-II, or ENGL 1AF with a grade of CR, or ENGL 1A with a grade of C- or better; Math Enrollment Group M-I or M-II, or completion of a GE Area B4 course. Must be majoring in Biology (all), Biomedical Eng, Biochemistry, ENVS (all), Forensic Science (all), Nutritional Science, Meterology-CS, Kinesiology, Computer Science, and Communicative Disorders.
