CHE 178 - Smart Sensors and Biosensors 3 units Theoretical and experimental understanding of design, operation, and performance of sensors and biosensors and integration into wired and wireless monitoring systems. Types include magnetic, optical, bio, chemical, radiation, electrical and mechanical. Lab explores sensor design parameters such as sensitivity, dynamic range, specificity, stability, repeatability, and compatibility and the integration of sensors with data acquisition to create a smart system.
Lecture 2 hours/lab 3 hours.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of Junior Core with a C- or better, ENGR 100W , Instructor consent. Grading: Graded
