ENVS 122 - Borderlands and the Environment 3 units Comparative study of environmental issues in borderland regions, which encompass environmental, economic, cultural, political and social processes surrounding a geopolitical border. Investigation of historical, cultural, and political causes and responses to environmental problems. Analysis of understandings of territory, nation-states, and exclusion based on theories in border studies, environmental studies, and the study of social movements.
Prerequisite(s): ENVS 1 or instructor consent. Grading: Graded
