BME 258 - Medical Imaging for Engineers 3 units Introduction to the principles and clinical applications of medical imaging. Interaction of radiation with matter. Image acquisition and manipulation. Clinical imaging techniques: X-ray radiography and computed tomography, ultrasound imaging, magnetic resonance imaging. Safety considerations. Computer laboratory: image enhancement, segmentation, contouring.
