The Adapted Physical Education Added Authorization (APEAA), offered by the Department of Kinesiology, allows an educator to provide students with disabilities a specially designed physical education program as determined by the local level special education assessment.
The Kinesiology, Preparation for Teaching, BS is blended with the Adapted Physical Education Added Authorization program. Students take the adapted coursework as part of their undergraduate degree. If students earn a B or better in APE coursework, they are eligible for the APEAA.
Individuals who currently hold a valid Single Subject - Physical Education, Special Education, or Multiple Subject California teaching credential are eligible to complete the APEAA program. If interested, they should contact the program co-coordinators Dr. Jihyun Lee and Dr. Erin Siebert.
