The Spartan Accelerated Graduate Education (SAGE) Accountancy Program enables qualified students in the BSBA Accounting program to complete requirements for both the baccalaureate and master’s degrees at the same time. Students progress from undergraduate to graduate status seamlessly, with a simplified application process and no application fee. Students complete both degrees in less time than if completing them separately, providing significant cost savings. Students completing the Accountancy SAGE program are prepared for careers as practicing CPAs in public accounting or in industry.

Admission Requirements
All SJSU BSBA Accounting undergraduates are eligible to apply for the Accountancy SAGE program if they fulfill the following requirements:
- Have completed a minimum of 90 units towards the BSBA degree
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, or GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 semester units
- Have completed all lower division GE requirements
- Will have completed BUS1 120A , BUS1 121A , and BUS1 121B with an average GPA of 3.0 by June 1 of junior year.
Graduate Standing Requirements
Requirements for program continuation and advancement to candidacy in the graduate program, include:
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher with no individual grade below a C. Students not maintaining these standards will be placed on probation initially, followed by disqualification if grades are not improved.
- A GPA of 3.0 is required to earn the SAGE Accountancy degree.

Students must satisfy all of the major and Undergraduate University Graduation Requirements , which includes unit, GPA, and residency requirements as well as the below identified General Education , American Institutions, Graduation Writing Assessment, and Physical Education requirements. Courses that meet Undergraduate University Graduation Requirements are noted with an area designation (see Course Abbreviations ).
University Requirements (38 units)
The Lower and Upper Division General Education requirements may be satisfied by coursework outlined below. To satisfy the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) , students must pass both the SJSU Writing Skills Test (WST) and ENGL 100WB , COMM 100W , or LLD 100WB with a grade of “C” or better (“C-” not accepted).

The standalone Business Administration, Accounting Concentration, BS program requires the completion of 9 units of required electives. Students satisfy these courses in this SAGE Scholars Program by completing BUS 220R , BUS 220S , and BUS 220U . These 9 units are considered to count toward both the graduate and undergraduate degrees, thus allowing SAGE students to meet the minimum unit requirements for both degrees.
