* Major students are expected to have taken the equivalent of one year of a foreign language (CHIN 1A and CHIN 1B at SJSU) in high school or at a community college.

** CHIN 25A and CHIN 25B fulfill the 6-units requirement for core GE Area C2.

*** American Institutions requirement may be satisfied by certain core GE courses (D2+D3/US123).
