MATE 165 - Photovoltaic Fabrication Modeling and Testing

Photovoltaic (solar cell) design, fabrication, and testing. TCAD simulation tools will be used in the model solar cell fabrication processes. Fabrication processes will include cleaning, deposition, oxidation, diffusion, metallization, photolithography, and etching. Metrology will include resistivity, spectrophotometry, and current-voltage curves. This is a lecture /lab course.

Lecture 2 hours/Lab 3 hours.

Prerequisite(s): MATE 25  or MATE 153  or TECH 25  with a grade of “C-” or better; or instructor consent.
Grading: Letter Graded
