HUM 2A - Humanities Honors - Imperialism, Science & Resistance


6 units
Interdisciplinary study of imperialism, the influence of science, and resistance to colonial expansion and scientific influence. Examine how knowledge is produced, the influence of the arts, the rise of empires, and understandings of wealth and revolution across Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

Lecture 3 hours/lecture 3 hours.

Satisfies C1: Arts + C2: Humanities
Prior to Fall 2023: A1 (C- or better) + D.


Prerequisite(s): Completion of GE Area A2 with a grade of C- or better.
Grading: Letter Graded

Note(s): This cohort-based, team-taught course is eligible for credit for Honors commendation.
