CHAD 136 - Foundations of K-8 Language Arts & Social Studies

Introduction to effective instruction and assessment in reading/language arts/social studies. Reviews learning/pedagogical theories, methods for adapting curriculum for all learners, and developmental processes underlying achievement in these areas. Students develop knowledge of Common Core Standards for language arts/social science.

Prerequisite(s): Upper division standing, Admission to the ChAD credential program and a passing score on the CBEST and CSET.
